Description

This template should be used to make a basic text footnote. It also has the ability, when used with other Reference Templates, to create a reference group.

Usage

Note: If you need to add a reference that is not strictly text or a specialized reference using one of the other reference templates, it is recommended you use the standard MediaWiki reference tag: <ref>FOOTNOTE TEXT</ref> See MediaWiki's Cite Guide for more information on how to use this tag.
Basic Usage
To add a basic reference footnote, pass the template's name with a text= parameter. (e.g., {{ref|text=INPUT}}, replacing INPUT with the text you would like to appear in the footnote.)

Named Reference Group
Using on of the other Reference Templates, you can add a name= parameter to it to give that reference a "nickname", then use the {{ref}} template with the same name= parameter to reuse the same nicknamed reference.
