Marriage to Declan, Birth of Emma edit
At some point prior to 1863, Emma's Mother met Declan Lion.[citation needed] She later married Declan, and gave birth to a daughter, Emma M. Lion, in January of 1863.[2] Once a year, typically in June, she would stay at Lapis Lazuli with Declan and Emma.[3]
Death edit
Sometime in 1876, Emma's Mother died of consumption. Declan Lion had died shortly before, thus upon her mother's death, Emma was left an orphan.[4]

There are very few details on the nature of Emma's mother and Declan's relationship. It is implied that it was somewhat easy going as they were playful towards each other.[1][5]

There are also very few details on the nature of Emma's relationship with Emma's mother. Her mother did try to guard her when she was young from more mature aspects of life.[5]

When Eugenia was seven years old, some time after her own mother died, Eugenia's father married a woman from Portugal and had another daughter: Emma's mother. Eugenia and Emma's mother's relationship was fond, but they were not close.[3]

Appearance and Personality edit
Emma's Mother has a dimpled chin and dark, unruly hair. She is half-Portuguese on her mother's side. Emma claims that they have similar cheekbone structure and raise their eyebrows in a similar manner.[1] She has a fondness for bright colors.[6]
